The fourth stage of Saxony’s Wine Trail leads the hikers through Weinböhla.

Just as the Saxon Wine Route, Saxony’s Wine Trail covers the distance from Pirna to Diesbar-Seußlitz. Its total length of 90kilometres is divided into 6 stages of 15 to 18kilometres. These lead hikers to the most beautiful vineyards, the most stunning views and the best wine restaurants of the region.

The 4th stage of the trail from Radebeul to Oberau also crosses Weinböhla. Coming from the hill Coswiger Spitzberg, the hikers arrive at Weinböhla’s wine-growing area near the hill Fuchsberg. If they follow the markings, they reach the street Forststraße near the restaurant Laubenhöhe. After having crossed the castle Lauben, the vineyard at the Wine-growing Estate Henke and the guest house Laubenschlösschen, the hikers finally reach the tower Friedensturm. As the key to the Friedensturm is available at the guest house Laubenschlösschen, the hikers might use the opportunity of enjoying the fantastic view from the tower with its 20metres of height. The Friedensturm is one of Weinböhla’s sights and was built in 1903. The next tower König-Albert-Turm is rather nearby and can easily be reached by walking along the streets Hohestraße, Moritzburger Strasse and Karlsstrasse. The tower is open from April to October on Sundays and bank holidays from 2pm – 4pm. However, should the visitors arrive outside these opening hours, the key to the Friedensturm may also be used to open the doors. The König-Albert-Turm affords a panoramic view up to 60 kilometres of distance, weather permitting. Under all circumstances, the hikers will be able to view the next point of interest – the tower Wartturm. The Wartturm is situated on top of the vineyard Ratsweinberg and can be reached by passing the streets Barthshügelstrasse, Nizzastrasse and Steinbacher Strasse. After a short visit at the Wartturm, the hikers now leave Weinböhla via Börnchengrund and Nordstrasse. They will finally reach the Wasserschlösschen Oberau, which marks the end of the Wine Trail’s fourth stage.

For further details and maps of the tour, please contact our tourist information at Zentralgasthof Weinböhla. Guided hiking tours may also be booked there.
